About Taylor
Bio
Taylor holds both an Associate's and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Cinema and Film Production. She earned her degrees from Bucks County Community College and Temple University, where she honed her skills in filmmaking, editing, digital photography, and darkroom photography. Although she has always been interested in darkroom photography, digital photography is more accessible to her. While photography has been her passion, filmmaking, editing, and videography are her chosen career paths. In March of 2020, before the outbreak of COVID-19, her work was selected to be showcased at the Bucks County Art Institute.
Artist Statement
I have always had a passion for photography, ever since I picked up a camera. Initially, I wasn't sure what I was trying to capture until I found an artist who inspired me. Her name is Jane Fulton Alt, and her portfolio called Katrina inspired some of my works today. My primary focus is to capture the essence of things and places that no longer have a voice but were once very loud. I travel to abandoned buildings and places to tell stories that are no longer heard. In some of my other works, I have been inspired by social media and use it to push the limitations of editing, using color and distorting reality. Although my main focus is on low-lit landscapes of abandoned interiors and exteriors, I also have work that captures more vibrant portraits.
